The origin
In 1922, Dr. Albert Dormanns walked into a building in Mönchengladbach, Germany — the same building where his grandfather had once run a fabric plant. With a supply of overstock materials and returns, he started cutting pants. He called it the Dormanns' Trouser Factory.
After the disruptions of WWII — including a period where production ran out of a restaurant — the company made a decision in 1950 that defined everything since: specialize entirely in men's pants, and do it better than anyone else. That focus has never wavered.
How they're made
Every Alberto pant is designed at the company's headquarters in Mönchengladbach and manufactured exclusively in partner factories in Tunisia, Romania, and Poland — never Asia. Alberto's own technicians are permanently on-site during production.
An in-house laboratory tests every fabric for physical and chemical properties before a single stitch is cut.
